Il progetto Pulsar Ensemble nasce a Bergamo a fine 2014 da un’idea di Filippo Sala, quale laboratorio musicale di ricerca ritmica e timbrica inerente al mondo della batteria e delle percussioni; amplia poi la propria gamma sonora con l’introduzione di strumenti elettrofoni: un sintetizzatore Microkorg, un piano elettrico e un set di pad elettronici.

Le musiche composte, tutte originali, vivono molteplici atmosfere sonore: dal post rock al minimalismo, dall’istintiva improvvisazione collettiva a momenti piu intimistici, attraversando psichedelia e rigide melodie contemporanee.

I quattro musicisti, tutti batteristi-polistrumentisti di area jazz e rock, dopo mesi di ricerca realizzano un set ideale e personalizzato che consente una completa fusione cibernetica tra suoni acustici ed elettronici.

L’Ensemble ha recentemente ultimato il nuovo lavoro per il 2016 dal titolo: Pulsar Ensemble “Luminescence”, spettacolo di musica,

luci e visual arts.

Pulsar Ensemble is a music project born in Bergamo in late 2014. Created by Filippo Sala as a musical research laboratory, it focused initially on the world of drums and percussion; soon enough, its sound palette was expanded with the introduction of electronic instruments: syntheziser, digital piano, electronic sampling pads.

The Ensemble’s music – all original pieces and compositions– stems from multiple musical backgrounds and atmospheres: from post rock to minimalism, from raw collective improvisation to more intimate moments, through psychedelia and rigorous contemporary melodies.

The four members of the Pulsar Ensemble are drummers and all-rounded musicians with a specific interest in jazz and rock music. Through months of experimentation they managed to craft a unique set that matches their musical identity: a cybernetic fusion of acoustic and electronic sounds.

The Ensemble has recently developed a new project for 2016: Pulsar Ensemble’s “Luminescence”, a synesthetic journey through music, sound, light and visual arts.
